The four founders met while studying at the Technical University of Munich and at the Center for Digital Technology & Management (CDTM). As they discussed their various experiences, they realized that the trend towards services had reached the mechanical engineering sector, too, with a delay of 10 to 15 years compared to other industries. This led the team to begin developing a digital aftersales system specifically geared toward machinery and plant manufacturers (OEMs). The objective was to allow these companies to administer the products they’d already sold, digitalize their aftersales services and thereby receive far higher scores in terms of customer loyalty and product margins.
With its cloud-based software-as-a-service solution, remberg primarily caters to medium-sized businesses as it helps them to get on the digitalization train in time. In the area of industrial services, remberg aspires to become a leading European software company for the long term. The start-up managed to acquire seven machine manufacturers as clients within its first months of existence and was awarded a digital innovation prize by the German Ministry of Economics in 2018.
How has remberg benefited from UnternehmerTUM?
In 2018, its first year, remberg participated in batch #8 of the TechFounders accelerator program. It particularly benefited from the intensive coaching it received, from the consulting around financial questions and the strong industry network. As a result, remberg was able to secure EUR 2 million in seed money from notable venture capitalists just months after completing the program.
