The use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence is changing the world of work. The Zukunftszentrum Süd supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and their employees in discovering and realizing the potential of digital transformation. In so-called future consultations, employees identify concrete opportunities and challenges together with the companies and develop a solution-oriented action plan for practical qualification offers free of charge.

The Zukunftszentrum Süd for Bayern und Baden-Württemberg is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (BMAS) as part of the "Future Centers (KI)" program, as well as proportionately by the respective state ministries of economics in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. Implementing project partners of the Zukunftszentrum Süd are thef-bb Forschungsinstitut Betriebliche Bildung, Bildungswerk der Baden-Württembergischen Wirtschaft e.V., bbw GmbH - Bildungswerk der Bayerischen Wirtschaft and the appliedAI initiative by UnternehmerTUM.

More and more companies are interested in AI, but are reluctant because they cannot assess costs or benefits well. With the simulation, companies learn hands-on and on the fly what to expect and how to deal with potential challenges.

AI simulation game

Free Training Courses on AI and Digitalization: AI Simulation Game and AI Consulting.

In addition to digital transformation, the topic of artificial intelligenceI represents an important focus of the offering.

AI Simulation Game:

As part of the so-called AI simulation game, Zukunftszentrum Süd enables companies to experience the complex process of implementing an AI system risk-free. In the simulation, participants take on roles in a fictitious company and work together to solve challenges in the selection, development and implementation of AI systems. Participants learn more about the decisions and issues that arise when introducing AI in a company in a fast-paced environment, which would often take several months in real-life situations. With our free simulation game, we offer a catalyst for SMEs to experience this process in a condensed form in two days and gain valuable insights for their own companies.

The format of the simulation game in a fictitious company promotes open discussions in the team, a willingness to experiment, e.g. with productive AI systems, and a sharpened eye for the bigger picture.

Dr. Till Klein, Senior Manager appliedAI Academy

Procedure and Duration:

Participants go through three phases with a total duration of two days. Each of the three phases consists of several components.

Phase 1 - Experience: In the first phase, participants learn about the fictional company and its roles, and have the opportunity to experience AI systems from leading start-ups.

Phase 2 - Select: In the second stage, participants systematically select two AI applications of interest to the fictitious company.

Phase 3 - Implement: In the third phase, participants work in teams to solve the challenges of implementing and developing the selected AI use cases.

In the simulation, you develop a fictitious AI system with your employees and realistically experience the challenges they will face in developing an AI system.

AI Consultations

In addition to the AI simulation, two different AI consultations are also offered:

1. AI Information Consulting

In the AI information consultation, participants receive an initial introduction to the use of AI in small and medium-sized enterprises based on best practices, as well as concrete orientation on how the successful use of AI and first steps could look like. Likewise, an AI start-up map provides an overview of cooperation partners for AI applications and AI playing cards show possibilities for the application of AI.

Procedure: telephone conversation, online meeting or on-site at one of our roadshows, networking meetings or workshop.

Duration: 30 - 60 minutes

2. In-depth consulting

The in-depth consulting aims to give companies a first impulse to tackle AI applications in their company and to start the AI journey. In this process, promising AI applications for companies are identified and the prerequisites for successful implementation are created. After an AI maturity assessment, companies will receive information and tips on further training and networking opportunities in the AI ecosystem, which they can use to roll out AI on their own.

Procedure: on-site or via online workshop

Duration: 1h to 5 days
